Struggle

Goodandgraces   -

Happy Monday!  It was a pretty intense week with one of my kiddos, but the weekend turned out to be full of making memories.  As my children get older, I’m beginning to watch them work through some challenges in life when I want to take over and fix it all for them.

If you have kids, you know what I mean.  I know all ages have different phases.  While the struggles may seem small to an adult or even teenager, to my child, in that moment, the thing they are dealing with is real and it’s big to them.  It is difficult watching your child work through their hard situations, but sometimes it is so rewarding.

As a mama, most of us feel there isn’t anything that our children can do to make us love them any less.  I sometimes wish time could freeze and my family could stay right where it’s at. We are in a sweet time of life right now and my kids are so much fun.  So, you can imagine when a challenge or problem arises it’s all hands-on deck.

I feel so blessed that God chose me to teach these wonderful children he blessed me with.  He guides me as I walk with my children and help them tackle the challenges and problems they come into contact with.

Sisters, this love I’m describing, the love of a mother or father is the love that our Heavenly Father has for us.  We are forgiven, we are redeemed, we are the daughter of the King!  I have felt broken and overwhelmed this weekend.  I fell to my knees and opened my Bible asking for the Lord to guide me.  The verse of the day in my Bible app just happened to be Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

God’s timing is so precise! After reading this I couldn’t hold back the tears.  Here came the water works!  But my heart began to mend.  My wounds didn’t burn as much.  I am beginning to feel restored and renewed.  I have hope because of Jesus and value and that I am loved.  If you don’t have this hope, please message me.  Jesus died for you and for me so that we could be free from bondage and thrive.

He goes before us, guides us, comforts us and sometimes he carries us.  We think perhaps in the midst of things that he is not there or that we are doing it all on our own, only to look back and see his hand in every detail.  Isn’t that amazing!

In Romans 8:6 it states, “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”  Sisters, to have life and have it abundantly, we need to look to the Lord for answers rather than to Google.  When we spend time with our Heavenly Father that’s when we are able to begin to hear His voice clearly. It is during these times when we can best guide and teach our children, friends, family, and loved ones.  It changes us so that we are a better wife, colleague, friend, and mother.  Ladies, let’s commit to being in the Word so that when trouble comes, we are prepared.

Heavenly Father, thank you for going before us.  Lord, help us to see what you are calling us to and where you are calling us to be.  Father, thank you for leading us.   In Jesus name, Amen.
